This Privacy Policy explains how StreamOK ("StreamOK", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the StreamOK mobile application (the "App"). StreamOK is a local video player for Android. It plays video files that are already stored on your device. StreamOK does not download videos from the internet.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. SUMMARY
StreamOK is built to respect your privacy. Your videos stay on your device and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We collect a limited amount of anonymous and technical information to run the App, show advertising, deliver notifications, understand basic usage, and respond to support requests. The details are below.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Video files and media on your device
The App reads video files stored on your device so it can list them and play them. This happens entirely on your device. We do not upload, copy, transmit, or store your video files, their contents, their file names, or their file paths on any server. Playback is fully local.
b) Anonymous usage information (our own analytics)
To understand how many people use the App and to keep it running well, the App sends a small, anonymous signal to our server (streamok.online) when the App is first installed and each time it is opened. This signal contains:
- A randomly generated identifier created on your device. This identifier is random and is not your advertising ID, your device ID, your phone number, or any other real-world identifier. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
- The event type (install or open).
As with any internet request, our server also observes the network IP address at the moment the request is received. We derive an approximate country from this and store only the two-letter country code. We do not store your full IP address.
c) Advertising information
The App shows advertising through Unity LevelPlay mediation, which serves ads from multiple advertising networks including Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), Meta Audience Network (Meta Platforms, Inc.), and ironSource (Unity Technologies). To serve and measure ads, these advertising components access and process:
- Your device advertising identifier (Advertising ID / GAID).
- Limited information about your interactions with ads, along with coarse device information (such as device model, operating system, language, and network type) and the network IP address (used to derive approximate, country-level location).
This information is collected and used by these advertising partners in accordance with their own policies. See Section 5.
d) Analytics information (Google Firebase)
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand general, aggregated usage. The events we log are limited and do not contain personal information, file names, or file paths. They include: app opens, video playback started, video playback completed (these carry only a generic source value indicating local storage), screen views (using static screen names such as Library, Player, Settings), and a tap event on a "coming soon" element. Firebase Analytics also processes an app-instance identifier, the advertising identifier (for advertising and measurement purposes), coarse device information, and the IP address (which Google truncates to derive approximate location).
e) Push notification information (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging)
To deliver push notifications, the App uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). FCM generates a messaging token and a Firebase installation identifier on your device and subscribes the App to a general broadcast topic so we can send announcements and updates. These identifiers are held by Google to route notifications. We do not store this token on our own servers and we do not link it to your identity.
f) Information you provide through the contact form
If you contact us through the in-app support form, you provide the information you choose to enter, which includes your name, email address, phone number, a reason for contacting us, and your message. This form is processed by a third-party provider, Formspree, which delivers your message to us by email. See Section 5.
g) App lock (PIN)
If you enable the App Lock feature, the PIN you set is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
3. PERMISSIONS WE USE
The App requests only the permissions it needs:
- Media and storage access (READ_MEDIA_VIDEO on Android 13 and above, or read storage on older versions): to find and play the video files on your device.
- Internet and network state: to show ads, deliver notifications, send the anonymous usage signal, and submit the contact form.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13 and above): to show push notifications, only if you allow them.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID): used by the advertising and analytics components described above.
- Other technical permissions (such as keeping the screen or processor awake during playback, vibration for notifications, install referrer, and receiving system events used by the notification and advertising components) support core playback, advertising, and notification behavior.
The App does not request permission to write to external storage and does not download files from the internet.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the core feature of the App, which is playing your local videos.
- Show and measure advertising.
- Understand basic, aggregated usage so we can improve the App.
- Send notifications about updates and announcements, if you allow them.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads (advertising and mediation), provided by Unity Technologies. Privacy policy: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Meta Audience Network (advertising), provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. Privacy policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
- ironSource (advertising), provided by Unity Technologies. Privacy policy: https://www.is.com/privacy-policy/
- Google Firebase (Analytics and Cloud Messaging), provided by Google LLC. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Formspree (contact form processing), provided by Formspree, Inc. Privacy policy: https://formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy/
We encourage you to review these policies to understand how these providers handle data.
6. DATA SHARING
We share information only as described in this Policy:
- Advertising identifier and ad interaction data are shared with our advertising partners (Unity Ads, Meta Audience Network, and ironSource) through Unity LevelPlay mediation to serve and measure ads.
- Analytics and advertising signals are processed by Google through Firebase.
- The information you submit in the contact form is processed by Formspree and delivered to us.
- The anonymous usage signal is sent only to our own server.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
7. DATA RETENTION
- We do not retain your video files at all, because we never receive them.
- Anonymous usage records (the random identifier, event type, country code, and timestamp) are retained for as long as needed to understand usage trends, and may be aggregated or deleted over time.
- Contact form messages are retained in our email for as long as needed to handle your request.
- Information held by third parties (Unity, Meta, Google, Formspree) is retained according to their own policies.
8. SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to protect information. Data sent over the internet by the App is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
StreamOK is a general-audience application and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Because the App does not collect information that identifies you personally (the usage identifier is random and anonymous), we may be unable to associate a request with a specific person. You can:
- Reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.
- Disable notifications in your device settings or in the App.
- Request deletion of contact form messages by contacting us.
For data deletion information, see our Data Deletion page at https://streamok.online/data-deletion
11. INTERNATIONAL USERS
The App and its third-party providers may process information in countries other than your own. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in such countries, which may have different data protection laws.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
